To the MOUNTAINS for MAY BIRTHDAYS!!

Jeff and Jill hosted our May Birthday party.
Jeff and Jill's family love everything camping and the mountains, so it was perfect that they hosted the first official cookout of the season up Millcreek Canyon. We are lucky to have so many great campsites, literally just a few minutes from our house. It's always so great to be in the Mountains! We had a good old fashion cook out, complete with SMORES. We found a waterfall, the perfect photo spot, and the kids ran up and down the mountain side and were all covered in dirt by the time we were finished. Nothing better then sitting around the campfire with the BEST FAMILY on EARTH!!

Memorial Day Bowling

Nothing like an afternoon of bowling to celebrate the
MEMORIAL DAY holiday!
Most of these kids had never bowled and it was hysterical to watch them lugging the balls around. Of course watching the adults bowl was funnier, but because I worry about pay backs I won't post any pictures of the back side of all the adults bowling. I'll save those pictures for black mail at a later date!!

Lisa loves her NIECES TO PIECES weekend!!

When I first started getting nieces and nephews it looked like the girls were going to take over. The first was my nephew Kevin, and then came 5 nieces within 5 years; Chelsea, Jessica, Kristen, Erin and MacKenzie! They are now all teenagers and growing into beautiful, wonderful, amazing women! How blessed I am to be their aunt and have them in my life. They will never understand how much the relationships I have with them means to me, especially over the last few years. I decided it would be fun to plan a slumber party with just us girls. I found a great deal on a condo in Park City right on Main Street; complete with a kitchen and a hot tub on the deck. What a BLAST!! We walked up and down main street looking in the shops and posing for funny pictures. We went grocery shopping and bought steaks and made dinner and dessert in our kitchen. We played games, sat in the hot tub, talked and laughed. It's so fun to listen to them talk about boys, school, church, dances, texting, clothes and all the important things in the lives of teenage girls. I hope they will always know that I LOVE THEM so much and will ALWAYS be here whenever they need me for anything!

It was amazing how many animals they found to hang on and kiss, up and down Main Street.

What a bunch of HAMS!!

Mamma Mia---it's a DISCO Birthday Party!!

The Megli's

planned the Family Birthday Party for March/April. DISCO was the theme and DANCING was the thing! What a blast!

The party hall (Dad's garage) was decorated, complete with a disco ball, bubble machine and dance floor. We were instructed to come dressed in our best 70's attire with a dance routine. I've attached a slide show to show off the funky dance moves of the night. All the boys in their tye-dyed t-shirts dancing the YMCA was quite the treat! Jessica, Kristen and Erin won the evening for the most choreographed number, but Brad's Lisa gave them a run for their money. Chelsea was the funniest when she joined Kenzie and Jill's routine and how cute was Jana with all her kids dancing the routine they had practiced all afternoon. Matt even jumped up and did a little solo with Sarah. Laura and Bill get the award for the best couples dance. For the final group dance when everyone was dancing even Grandma got up with her long blond hippie hair and busted out a few moves. I opted out of the dance routine and played the part of the disc jockey....okay I found the songs on the I-Pod and controlled the volume! We had a potato bar with all the fixings for dinner...YUM! You can't beat a potato bar! Laura and her girls decorated two darling cakes one was the 60's Flower Power and the other had a Peace sign.

HAPPY EASTER!!! Seriously...we hid 800 eggs in the yard!

Yep---that's 25 kids hunting for 32 eggs each! That's ALOT of eggs...especially for the adults to hide. Okay, it's impossible for them ALL to be competely hidden, the yard is only so big and the little, little kids don't understand it anyway. I love it when the little kids find about 2 eggs and then figure out what's inside. It instantly ends the hunt, they plop down and eat candy! However, the funniest part of the entire hunt is all the adults chasing down all the kids with the cameras trying to get shots of each kid finding an egg or showing off their baskets. I'm just happy it wasn't as cold this year. In last years pictures everyone has coats on...how "springy" is that?

Here's a picture of all the grandkids; minus Kevin in Argentina and Riley napping!
Getting everyone's attention....IMPOSSIBLE!!

The BOY streak has ended!!

Before 2009 we were afraid the boys had taken over, with 15 out of 23 it is definitely a boys world! With Brad & Lisa' s Riley born in August and Emily & Dan's, Joel born in November, our last hope was with Amy & Cliff. Due in early February she decided to leave the sex a surprise. Then in January a miracle happened, Jennifer & Brett got a call that there was a baby due any minute and it was theirs; the crazy thing was the birth mother had no idea of the sex.

What a thrill on January 16th when ANDREA DIANNE PETERSON was born; officially breaking the streak.

Sixteen days later on February 3rd; Amy & Cliff welcomed
ALLISON CATHERINE TICE!
It is so fun for Amy and Jennifer to have daughters the same age. Now if we could just get Jenn and Brett moved to Utah forever so they can hang out!!

Birthday Party at the Laws Corral

I was in charge of the January/February Birthday party. I was going to do a Mardi Gras theme, but couldn't quite figure out how to make it fun for the kids. When I found all the fun stuff at the party store for a Cowboy party I knew I'd found my theme. Here's my invitation:

YEE HAW!!
The best danged shin dig is coming and Y’all is INVITED!!
Mosey on down to the Laws Corral
for wild west games and cowboy grub!

Saturday, February 28th
6:00pm
Don yer best wild west duds;
Don’t forget yer gun!

Everyone is always such a good sport to come dressed up and all the kids looked darling. Jeff's family cracked us all up dressed up in their Dallas "Cowboys" sweatshirts and hats! I decorated the garage with cowboy signs and red tablecloths. We ate our dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, beans and french fries out of pie tins. We took some fun pictures of faces in the wanted poster. The kids always love a pinata so I decorated a baseball shaped pinata to look like a cowboy and they took turns swinging at it. We ended the night with cupcakes & ice-cream to honor all our Birthday folk---Brad, Mom, Bill, Allison & Brandon!
